The EDGE Service comes with a range of technical security measures and supports robust business controls, minimising the risk of error or fraud, whilst maintaining the ease of use of EDGE
IT Security
The EDGE Service is constructed and maintained in line with international security standards. The design of the platform and the method of development and operating the platform maximises its operational stability and protection of data. A range of measures have been implemented and are monitored to eliminate the risk of unauthorised access to data by anyone, including EDGE Users, non EDGE Users and staff of EDGE International and its partners. For instance, the structure of distributed data input limit the risk of attacks on the EDGE Service by outsiders.
You control your own data
Anyone who creates data in EDGE is clearly identified. Your own Account Administrator controls who has access to what data on your EDGE Account. Any document in EDGE can be edited, authorised and co-authorised by 3 different persons if you wish. Key parameters for the EDGE Account are visible to any user registered with your Account. Bank account details and other sensitive data are registered separately from invoices and other documents. Bank account details can only be made inactive and are never deleted to ensure fraudulent actions are easily visible. Bank accounts are verified independently and validated before becoming effective. Invoices and credit notes can be electronically signed and stored independently from the EDGE Service. Email notifications can be set by individual users for any event. There are full and detailed audit trails available to administrators and individual users.
Your data is protected
The EDGE Service is available 24 hours per day 7 days per week. We make sure your data is securely stored and backed-up automatically. We safeguard your confidential data via secure communication technology and state of the art authentication tools. We never ever pass your data to anyone unless you instruct us to. No data of invoices or any other document is ever displayed in emails. When your customers are not registered users of EDGE, they can still protect your and their data free of charge by registering username and password.
Best practices
EDGE International is one of the 6 partners in the EU funded PARSIFAL project, aimed at improving the protection of critical infrastructures in the Financial Services Industry. This means that EDGE International helps defining and developing best practices on IT security for systems that are critical for the EU Economy. These best practices are applied in the continuous update of IT security measures for the platform.
The team of EDGE International was involved in the production of a document on the control framework for e-invoicing. This document presents an end-to-end analysis of how to control the purchase to pay process of a company, in which various controls will be linked to the objectives they aim to achieve. The document is published as a white paper of TWIST (www.TWISTstandards.org). To download the document, please click here.
